In 2013, the Museum on Tower Hill and the Parry Sound High School formed a partnership simply called the Community Remembrance Project. Out of this project came an outpouring of artifacts and stories captured by the Museum with the aid of high school students preparing for their history trip. The partnership continued in 2017 when a new group of students visited Europe, calling it the Vimy 100 Trip.
This exhibition is part of the second instalment of the Community Remembrance Project. Again, the High School collaborated with local businesses to ensure we never forget.
Featured in the Lions Room is a selection of personal artifacts and recorded memories of veterans from the First and Second World Wars. The banners lining the room will be some of many that will border Downtown Parry Sounds streets in the autumn of 2017. |
