The Museum on Tower Hill's annual Whats New exhibition takes place in the Lions Room from January 9 until March 3. This exhibition is curated by Collections Supervisor Amy Sultana and showcases the latest additions to the permanent collection from the 2018 year, including a fascinating assortment of artwork, historic photographs and three dresses worn by Parry Sound's first Seguin Sarah. Along with the Museums dedicated Collection Committee, Sultana has worked hard throughout 2018, to ensure all artifacts met the Museums collecting mandate, including their provenance to the West Parry Sound District. The exhibition is an opportunity to not only share recent accessions, but also celebrate the generosity of our wonderful donors.

Painting by Pete McDonald
This unique painting is on a fragment of an old cedar boat. Pete and his family cottaged in the Pointe Au Baril area for as long as his son, Andrew, can remember. If you look closely, you will notice Parry Sounds current Lookout Tower. |

Seguin Sarahs Dresses and Memorabilia
Donated by Parry Sounds very first Seguin Sarah, Milly Downing, who was nominated into the position in the 1970s. Milly was a prominent member of a large group of outgoing women who took up the cause of having fun! These high-spirited women dressed up in elaborate handmade costumes and went out to different community events to lend a hand. |

Collection of Horse Equipment, Courtesy of Howard Sidney Harris.
This small portion of horse equipment was collected by prominent Ardbeg resident and lumberman, Burley Harris, over the duration of his life. Burley worked as a foreman for the CNR, and later with the Robertson Mill, also known as the Graves and Bigwood Lumber Company, until its closure in 1928. |
