About the Event
Whether snapshots, studio portraits, or postcards, photographs are important spatial/temporal genealogical evidence, even if we can’t immediately identify the subject matter. This seminar will discuss how to evaluate the provenance of a photo, the methodology behind identifying ancestors, locations and timeframes, and how to connect your documentary evidence and oral histories to photographic evidence following genealogical proof standard.
