About the Event
Join us in person September 9th at 7pm, as we welcome Ron Whitmell, the Chair of the Whitestone Cemetery Board, presenting The Municipality of Whitestone - Cemetery Operations.
The presentation that will be given provides a short background of the three Cemeteries operated by the Municipality of Whitestone, the original tracking documents, improvements in tracking and cataloging data, selection of a dedicated Cemetery software application, relationships with Universities, Societies and Vendors to verify and update the Cemeteries operations. It will also discuss the milestone event of tracking and identifying many unmarked family burials and the working relationship with our partners to provide permanent stone markers for as many as possible Unmarked Graves.
Presenter Bio:
Ron Whitmell was born and raised in the Township of Hagerman which later became part of the Municipality of Whitestone. Ron left the community in 1971 to pursue a college education at Georgian College in Barrie.…
