About the Event
Join us on June 10th at 7pm at the Museum on Tower Hill, as we welcome Caitlin Dyer, Curator of the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, presenting a collection of Anishinaabe oral histories of Parry Sound sport.
The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame is currently producing a digital exhibit about the Seven Grandfather Teachings and Anishinaabe Sport History in the Parry Sound region. This is one of the ways we are responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #87 which calls upon all levels of government, in collaboration with Indigenous peoples, sports halls of fame, and other relevant organizations to provide public education that tells the national story of Indigenous athletes in history. The project is funded through Digital Museums of Canada and will be hosted on their site when complete and will be available in three languages, English, French, and Anishinaabemowin.
