Over the last century, women's fashion has changed drastically. From the ankle-length dresses of the late 1800s, to the thigh-high mini skirts of the 1960s, the different styles that have hit the streets of Parry Sound have all come and gone for a reason.

Many factors have contributed to women reconsidering and rethinking the way they dress. From political influences such as world events and the critical role played by political female figures, to technological advances and influences from cultural phenomena and the current state of the economy, everything we do contributes to the way we view fashion and current trends. This exhibition highlights the social and economic factors that have led to these shifting styles through a variety of women's clothing and accessories found within our collection.
